Hawk von Hapsburg is an elegant looking 6 year old classic German Shepherd. He is definitely a distinguished gentleman, super good looking with the most gorgeous coat; he is well mannered, attentive and knows just the right thing to do and when. He charmed the vet when he went for a check up, everyone wanted to meet him and couldn’t believe a dog like that didn’t belong to anyone. We know it is just a temporary problem for Hawk, he will find the right home soon. He is in a foster home now, he has charmed his new neighbors, even people wary of German Shepherds know he is special, neighborhood children even sleep on him. But when it comes time to do what German Shepherd do, keep an eye out for things that don’t look right, he has a formidable bark. Hawk is housebroken and walks super well on a leash. He is good with other dogs, but no cats for him. Anyone looking for a reliable family dog, someone who just needs a ready made buddy they doesn’t have to train, Hawk is your guy!

Hawk is a one of a kind dog.  Never have I fostered a dog that I would say is close to perfect, but he is.  And he is a clown.  I think he never saw a TV, how funny to watch him look at the TV program, cocking his head one way, then the other, trying to figure out what that person is telling him.  And try not to laugh while watching him discovering peanut butter!  He is a natural heeler, will always walk calmly on the left. When dogs, even Chihuahua's, bark and go nose to nose, Hawk just wags and moves on.  One day a tiny baby met him and started kicking his feet and waving his hands in Hawks face, and again he wagged.  His foster pop is a general contractor, so he brings Hawk to his work sights.  Hawk loves this, he is very well behaved on every level.  What a dog indeed.
